For Resort 18, Weiland took inspiration from folk art, and art fair finds such as beautiful tapestries, antique paintings and rugs. She also looked to the delicate, romantic children's book illustrations by Roland Pym, as well as illustrations and folk drawings of horses, such as the abstract horses woven into folkloric wall tapestries. These whimsical references influenced the colour palette for the collection, a world of lemon yellow, mint green, white and gold.
These wistful colours are applied to classic and updated Shrimps styles; lemon yellow and smokey blue faux fur coats adorned with crochet trims, as well as an updated new A-line soft teddy fur. The Hermione dress is back again modernized in a baby blue and shimmery gold gingham print with black and white striped ribbon ties. Gold and sparkly trimmed lurex knits are seen throughout the collection, with frilled necks and cuffs, or sweet cardigans with bows tied at the wrist.
A range of drop waist dresses, inspired by her Nana’s wardrobe, available in monochrome white and black prints, as well as printed silks with Hannah Weiland's signature hand drawn doodles. Weiland's love of texture is apparent in a new dress style that comes with 3D flowers embroidered all over, available in navy and dusty pink, as seen on the latest November cover of Elle Denmark.
Hannah's drawings also appear embroidered on this season's Hokus PVC Coat. Leopard print, a Shrimps favourite, features in a new Papa Puss and Baby Puss coat as well as in a new leopard print faux fur with Dory faces peeking out, which is available in a longer and a shorter style. Layer up this season in Shrimps Resort 18.
