Shrimps AW17 London Fashion Week Presentation

On 20th February, Shrimps exhibited its new Autumn / Winter 2017 collection at 180 The Strand in a presentation for London Fashion Week. Eighteen looks were showcased, displaying Hannah Weiland’s mélange of Scot and Louise Bourgeois inspired pieces on a faux fur background.
Shrimps used Scottish tartan prints, colours and materials. From tartan wools to Lochness Monster prints, the collection is an amalgamation of all things Scottish. This Scottish influence delicately fused together with the textures and colour palette of Bourgeois, the French-American artist. Shrimps emblazons their pink and cream faux furs with female nudes; a new twist to their signature faux fur. The collection blends together the harshness of the Highlands while holding true to the innocence of the Shrimps brand, including intricate pearl clusters and cuffs on its jackets, coats and bags.
Despite the quantity of nouveau elements, the cheekiness of the brand remains with a collection of tongue-in-cheek prints and badges.
