Shrimps Summer Festival

Would summer be complete without a festival? We certainly think it wouldn’t! To celebrate the arrival of our favourite season we looked into what the Shrimps team’s favourite festivals are with one or two styling tips along the way!

- What was the first festival you went to?

Field Day in 2013

- What would you wear to a festival?

Always comfy shoes! If the festival is in England I would definitely wear layers as the weather is crazy - as we all know - and that possibly have pockets!

- What's your best festival related memory?

I really enjoy going to summer festivals in general, only the idea makes me feel very happy... so I only have great memories. But the craziest I have to say it was last year! I couldn't go to Lovebox and I was so sad that in the end I decided to pass through Victoria Park on my way back home from work. Somehow I managed to find a spot in the park where I could hear the music and kinda see the main stage. I know this sounds insane!

- What's your favourite festival?

I really like BST in Hyde Park and I used to go every year to Club 2 Club in Turin (until I moved to London), that's a very cool/ underground festival!

- What's your festival survival tip?

Drink a lot of water; queuing to get food close to music stages (as sometimes queues are super long) so at least you don't miss a lot! :) and last but not least as it's very important - queue for the toilet in strategic times - yes it's all about queues!

- What's your favourite thing about festivals?

Hanging with my friends, listening to music and carousels!

- What's your least favourite thing about festivals?

When it's over and you have to go home :(

- Are you going to any festivals this summer?

I went to All Points East at the end of May, it was awesome. And as I can't get enough of Summer festivals I'll also go to a very cool festival in South of Italy (where I come from), it's called VIVA festival.

I'm very excited as it's not usual to have something interesting happening in my hometown, I've always dreamed of having my fave dj (Jamie xx) playing in one of the amazing places in South of Italy so I'm very looking forward to it!

The first Festival I went to was the Optimus Alive in Lisbon in 2009.

- What would you wear to a festival?

Something comfy and practical, I once made the mistake to wear dungarees to Glastonbury - dungarees are definitely something NOT to wear to a festival - the luigi shorts would be perfect.

What’s your best festival related memory?

When celebrating my 21st birthday at Glastonbury, my friends organised a surprise ‘tea party’ in a tree house that served a winning combination of cupcakes and cocktails!

I would bring a Pyrus in Lemon for warmth to help party through the night and also the colour helps your friends to spot you in the crowds

My first proper festival was Electric Picnic in Ireland 2009 (I feel old now!) As with any festival in Ireland, you need to be prepared for rain and mud. The Shrimps Olwen coats would be perfect, they’re showerproof and can be wiped clean! The collar is a nice touch and will keep your neck warm when you’re inevitably raving in a forest at 5am.

This year I’ve been to All Points East to see Nick Cave and Patti Smith, then in August I’m headed to End of the Road in Dorset. My survival advice is bring an airbed if you’re camping!
